kernenergien | solar sutainable strategy

Our focus lays on the mediterranean markets

The geographical focus of our activities is the mediterranean region and in particular the countries of Spain, Italy and Jordan

The mediterranean regions, as well as other areas like the US state of California are providing excellent general conditions concerning + the solar resources + the technical and economical infrastructure (electric grid, excellent manpower for assembly and operation) + attractive political and financial conditions (good country credit rating, feed-in laws for renewables)

Medium-term opportunities will be found in most of the countries of the sun-belt

The states of California, Nevada, Texas and Arizona have established laws to support renewables energies, so-called “Renewable Portfolio Standards”.

About 409 Mill Euro have been supplies for renewables energy project until 2001. The 6th framework program from 2002 this policy will be continued. In addition there are support programs on different national levels

The Italian parliament have approved in July 2001 about 50 Mill. Euro to support the development and the construction of parabolic trough solar power plants.

The Spanish Royal Decrees 2818/1998 and 436/2004 offers for electricity produced by solarthermal power plant up to 0.21 €/kWh.

At the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in September 2002 the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has announced about 500 Mill. Euro for the next 5 years for the support of renewable energies.

The German Ministry of Environment (BMU) support the research and development of solar thermal technologies with 15 Mill. Euro per year.

The German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) has granted loans for a parabolic trough power plant in India of about 68 Mill. Euro in October 2001.
